Indian Mother and Child by George Catlin-1836 Poster

This poster has a copy of an oil painting done by George Calin around 1835. George Catlin was an artist and author who wanted to preserve the history of natives in there natural environment. He not only painting Native American Indians, but traveled the world when transportation was not as easy as it is now. He even went to the Amazon. This picture is called Chee-Ah-Ka-Tchee. It is a Native American Indian woman with her papoose in a cradle board. It is so detailed that he even included the little trinkets hanging from the crossbar. Other works by this artist are in my "Art of George Catlin" collection.
