Inside and Out – Azure and Crimson Passage Poster

Artist: Diane Clancy; Title: Inside and Out; Medium: Pastel Bridge Inner & Outer Worlds - Inside and Out encourages one to relax and ease into harmony and peace, inside and out. Vibrant, rich colours of amazing blues, muted oranges, and crimson reds weave through this amazing art piece. The figure within my painting creates many unusual perspectives. This colourful pastel painting is created with a tip of the hat to Matisse. A figure sits, pointing off into the left distance with their right arm. Their head is turned and there is a strong intention to communicate conveyed by the person’s body. On our left, behind the person is an amazing sapphire, Persian, royal and deep sky blue cloth with cream and ivory curlicues. The cloth with the curlicues is also on the person’s arm in front. But on the arm the cloth is turquoise, aqua and cyan with snow and white curlicues. The person appears to wear a small cardinal red vest. Their left side of their body appears to have bright Maya, cobalt and cornflower blues, with the lighter blues forming five petal flowers. On the right side of the body there is a white and seashell patch with orange and yellow flowers. The rest of their face and body is muted burgundy, rust, burnt and pumpkin oranges. The person is sitting on a deep green pillow on a vermillion, auburn and fire brick red rectangle bench. The upper right corner of the painting shows a red-framed window looking out into saffron and golden yellow fields and meadows of forest and hunter green with an intense azure sky. The wall behind the blue cloth has a dance of greens – lime, teal, asparagus, apple, sea green and yellow-green. The end of the person’s pointing arm and their hand is some of the brighter, lighter greens. You may experience peace, serenity and healing as you look at my work.
