Did you know that in 1736 Benjamin Franklin invented the first organised fire company, It was called the Union Fire Company. They didn't have trucks or anything fancy. Instead they formed small clubs, each member had to hold onto a monogrammed leather bag that held water. Each person had to maintain that bag to keep it from falling apart. Today we use much more advanced methods to put out fires. However to quote Ben Franklin: An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. In other words you can prevent fires in your house by just following simple rules. You really don't want to have a visit by your local fire company.
