Iolanda Steam Yacht 1909 Tie
Iolanda Yacht Antonio de Simone 1909
The American steam yacht "Iolanda" in Mediterranean waters off Naples
The steam yacht Iolanda was the second of four steam yachts owned by Morton Plant. The Iolanda was built in 1908 for Plant by Ramage & Ferguson in New London, CT. It was more than 100 feet long and was considered a luxury yacht. The Iolanda was the second largest steam yacht in the world. After World War I, the Iolanda was managed by Camper & Nicholson before being sold to Mr. Moses. The Iolanda was also owned by Mme. Elizabeth Terestchenko of St. Petersburg and Kieff, Russia. The Iolanda was considered one of the grandest and most distinctive pleasure craft.
