Ipê trees are quite common throughout the area, exploding into fantastically colorful bloom in yellow or purple or white. I also find the leaves fascinating and frequently photograph them. I have a few ipê trees around my house and there is a yellow flowered one along the highway below that is a veritable show stopper each spring.
