She is wearing a simple skirt with a colourful scarf around her neck; she has bare feet. Her brunette hair is flowing in the wind. She appears to be standing on a stone bridge, perhaps in Venice or Florence. She is a poor working woman, but she is confident, relaxed and proud of her beauty. She is giving a wry smile to the viewer. There are two jugs for carrying water beside her feet. The original art was painted in 1908.
