Aside from cats being generally enigmatic and stealthy, it has been proposed that cats in old Japan were attracted to fish oil used in lanterns, so you can imagine a cat standing up to lick that oil, illuminated by the lantern's ghostly glow and inspiring the form of this yokai.

I was very pleased with the product. On this particular one, the light grey has a pinky/magenta tone to it. The darker the black the better though. So I would have to be careful with light gradient in the future. Not sure whether they are printed CMYK or RGB.
