Jeremy Bentham (1748 – 1832) was an English social reformer. Bentham argued in favour of individual and economic freedom, the separation of church and state, freedom of expression, equal rights for women, the end of slavery, the right to divorce, free trade, and the decriminalisation of homosexual acts. He's also known as a proponent of utilitarianism and an opponent of the ideas of natural law and natural rights. We imagined him with a hibiscus behind his ear.
