And the Motto "For the Greater Glory of God" is accompanied with a Crucifix on the back in Latin, French, English, Italian, Spanish, and German! Representing the true Universal (Catholic) nature of our faith! "IHS" is an ancient Christian symbol that derives from the first three letters of Christ's name - Jesus (iota-eta-sigma.) And the term "Jesuit," was originally meant as a pejorative, but was adopted in humility in a positive manner by many followers of Christ. It was meant to imply about a person: "One who utters the name of Jesus too often." - or something to that effect. Many people today still believe that His name should be boldly proclaimed... continuously. And that is part of what this symbol represents!
