Greeting card inspired by a beautiful nocturne painting by British artist John Atkinson Grimshaw, titled A moonlit lane. A moonlit lane was painted in 1874, when John Atkinson Grimshaw was at the height of his career. It is considered a very fine example of the artist's skill at capturing the mood of a moonlit night late in the autumn. The picture shows a wet and shiny street, lined with bare trees. Two distant figures are walking away from the viewer, an adult and a child. The street is illuminated only (or mostly) by the light of the full moon, filtered through a cloudy night sky.
