John Maclean Scottish Independence Bumper Sticker

This indy bumper sticker pays homage to the great Scottish revolutionary socialist John Maclean (1879-1923). Born in Pollokshaws, Glasgow, the former schoolteacher fought long and hard for the rights of the common people, ending up in prison for his beliefs. He was elected to the chair of the Third All-Russian Congress of Soviets in 1918 when he was made Bolshevik consul in Scotland. He founded the Scottish Workers Republican Party and supported Scottish independence. His health was broken in prison and he died aged 44. Loved by the people, over 20,000 lined the streets at his funeral. The design on the sticker is based on an image from a Russian stamp struck in honour of the great man. The black and white portrait of Maclean is placed at each side of the Scottish flag with one word - AYE - in the centre. This of course refers to the 2014 referendum on independence for Scotland from the UK government.
