About This Design

Juliet statue,Verona,Italy

The statue was made in 1969 by the sculptor Nereo Costantini and positioned in the courtyard at the initiative of the Lions Club of Verona in 1972. Unfortunately, the conservation conditions of Costantini's sculpture, badly affected by decades of exposure to tourists and visitors, especially as a result of the good-luck rite of touching Juliet's right breast, made it necessary to move the statue to a safer place.
