This July 1916 magazine cover illustration is of a stylish woman wading at a beach, carrying an orange parasol and a long fruit print scarf, and wearing a dress that appears to have been pinned up to keep it out of the water. Her beach shoes have lacings going up to her knees. Her turban hat has an expressively long black plume.
