kanji 1000 Character Classic 03 Kaisho Mug

千字文 (Senjimon / せんじもん / The Thousand Character Classic) was used in ancient China as a textbook for Chinese characters and a model for calligraphy. That was conveyed to Japan. ＊This is the 楷書(かいしょ / Kaisho) of 伊藤桂洲 (いとう　けいしゅう / Itō Keishū), a master of calligraphy who was active during the the Edo period to the early Meiji period. Note:The characters are reconstructed and vectorised from the National Diet Library Digital Collections public domain data, and they are not accurately reproduced. ＊The meaning of Chinese poetry : 天地玄黃(てんち　げんこう/ tenchi genkō) 宇宙洪荒(うちゅう　こうこう/ uchū kōkō) Heaven is dark and the earth is yellow, the universe is wide and vast. ＊日月盈昃(じつげつ　えいしょく/ jitsugetsu eishoku) 辰宿列張(しんしゅく　れっちょう/ shinsyuku retchō) The sun leans to the west, and the moon rises and falls. Constellations spread in rows. 寒來暑往(かんらい しょうおう / kanrai syōou) 秋收冬藏(しゅうしゅうとうぞう/ syūsyū tōzō) When the cold weather comes, the heat goes away, and they harvest in autumn and prepare for winter. 閏餘成歲(じゅんよ せいせい / jyunyo seisei) 律呂調陽(りつり ちょうよう / ritsuri chōyō)　 To make up for the extra days in a leap month. If you play the music well, you will have a good mood. 雲騰致雨(うんとう ちう/ unto chiu) 露結為霜(ろけつ いそう / roketsu isō) When clouds arise, they bring rain, and when dew freezes, it becomes frost.
