The Kea (Nestor notabilis) is a large alpine parrot from the south of New Zealand. It is the only alpine parrot in the world and lives in the cold, bleak mountains of the Southern Alps. A very cheeky and aggressive bird, "the clown of the mountains" is both a pest and a tourist attraction - they'll happily shred your tires, take food from your hand and fly off with your clothes!
