Our vintage American WW1 poster shows three figures walking in a field with farm produce in their arms - carrots, sweetcorn and wheat. Illustrated by William Kee and published in 1918, the caption reads The Spirit of '18 - The World Cry Food - Keep the Home Garden going. Produced for the U.S. Food Administration Department, the figure in the middle represents Uncle Sam and beside him are a young boy and a young man. The figures are shown against a vivid blue sky.
