Spinosaurus is the largest known carnivorous dinosaur, even larger than Tyrannosaurus or Giganotosaurus. Spinosaurus had an unusual elongated skull and arrangement of teeth. The most distinctive feature of Spinosaurus was a set of long spines along the animal's back. These spines grew up to 7 feet (2 metres) long and were likely to have had skin connecting them, making a sail-like arrangement.
