Kuniyoshi Samurai puzzle. Ukiyo-e woodblock from Edo Period Japan. Utagawa Kuniyoshi designed some of the most vibrant and impressive samurai paintings of the Edo period. His depiction of Shimamura Danjo Takanori features the samurai in full armour wielding his naginata while riding the waves of the sea on the backs of two blue crabs. The samurai has been hit by multiple arrows, but fights on fiercely with waves and crabs rising in the background. A great gift for fans of Utagawa Kuniyoshi, samurai paintings, and Japanese art.
