Utagawa Kuniyoshi was one of the last great masters of ukiyo-e style, and Mitsukini Defying The Skeleton is one of his most recognised and celebrated works. The woodcut features the hero Kuniyoshi drawing a swords against a giant skeleton looking ominously down on him.
