One of Utagawa Kuniyoshi’s most famous works, Three Women is a three panelled woodblock design depicting three Japanese women standing beside a tree on a snow covered day. Red winter flowers bloom forth magically, and all three women are appareled in traditional Japanese dress with wooden clogs. One woman carries a Japanese umbrella.
