Law Offices 2017 Ornament

“Law Offices” Ornament Nestled in the heart of Lunenburg Courthouse, Virginia, these two historic buildings stand as reminders of the people, professions, and stories that helped shape our community. The building on the left is the Tscharner Woodson Law Office, built around 1842. The building on the right is the Isaac Bonaparte Bell Law Office, constructed around 1888. Both structures are listed on the Virginia Landmarks Register and the National Register of Historic Places, preserving their place in Virginia’s rich history. When I painted this scene, I was drawn to the simple beauty and character of these two buildings. Their weathered details, classic architecture, and enduring presence speak to a time when life moved at a slower pace and personal relationships were at the heart of community life. For this ornament, I chose to depict the buildings dressed in a blanket of fresh snow, accented by festive wreaths and touches of holiday cheer. The quiet winter setting highlights their timeless elegance while celebrating the warmth and traditions of Christmas.
