LEFFINGWELL'S CALIFORNIA LEMONS FROM WHITTIER CA POSTER

This is a recreation from an original Leffingwell's lemon crate. It was carefully and painstakingly recreated by me since all original versions were destroyed. The only known original version on the internet is missing a corner and is badly discoloured. Furthermore, the original printing of lemon crate labels was done quickly in inexpensive art houses and the printing was not art quality. In fact, it would have been printed quickly as thousands of labels would have been needed for outbound lemon crates. Finally, the label would have been slapped onto a crate using something like wall paper glue. It is understandable not many survived. Lastly, size. The original labels would have been printed small enough to fit onto a lemon crate and would not have been suitable for display art. This is the only known 'art ready' version available today.
