About This Design

Les Progrès de l’Amour: Le Rendez-vous Poster

Own a museum-quality print of Jean-Honoré Fragonard’s Le Rendez-vous, part of the celebrated Les Progrès de l’Amour (The Progress of Love) series, painted between 1771 and 1773. This Rococo masterpiece was commissioned by Madame du Barry for her Château de Louveciennes and depicts an elegant, romantic scene where a young couple secretly meets in a lush garden setting. The painting captures the playful flirtation and tender anticipation characteristic of courtly love, rendered with Fragonard’s signature lively brushwork, pastel colours, and dynamic composition. The delicate interplay of light and shadow, along with the intricate foliage and flowing garments, creates an intimate and enchanting atmosphere. Le Rendez-vous exemplifies the Rococo style’s emphasis on romance, elegance, and theatricality, making it a beloved work in French art history.

I originally ordered this print in a larger size but was not pleased with the clarity of it. When I contacted Zazzle, they responded really quickly and were very helpful. I was able to reorder the print in a smaller size and it was shipped to me within a couple of weeks. The print was packaged well to ensure there was no damage during transit (Eco friendly, too!), and I am really pleased with it. I am so grateful to the customer service team for the professional way they handled my order. I had this printed on matt finish card and I was really pleased with the quality. The colours were rich and the image sharp.
