The lighthouse keeper understandably went insane because during the storm he witnessed the great old one, Cthulhu rise from the depths. In this painting you see Cthulhu rise from the depths of the ocean next to a large lighthouse. This Cthulhu was designed by Tobias White but is based not only after H.P.
