Inspired by ancient Hawaiian "Honu" (Sea Turtle). Turtles were important to Hawaiians. Some honu were regarded as gods. Others were thought to be a family aūmakua or a family guardian. This abstract painting is based on the popular carvings found throughout the islands of Hawaii.
