Lion Hunt Rectangular Sticker

This design was inspired by the "Lion Hunt" a low relief sculpture from the ancient neo-Assyrian city of Ninevah. It was made between 645 and 635 B.C.E. approximately 2640 years old. It depicts the mighty king Ashurbanipal hunting lions. In Babylonian/Assyrian culture the lion represents the wild in its most ferocious state. The act of hunting the lions symbolises the King's resolve in keeping his kingdom safe. This species of lion were native to Mesopotamia, smaller than their African cousins this particular sub species is now extinct.
