Little Nap is a painting in traditional Chinese free style (Xie Yi) or Zen style with ink on rice paper.
Zen, have no clear definition so far. The word Zen is from the Japanese pronunciation of the Chinese word Chán which can be approximately translated as meditation. Zen pointed directly to the human mind to enable people to see their real nature. It is a kind of attitude to life, a philosophy and a kind wisdom.
Zen Buddhism painting is the unique and specific art. Zen painting is a painting that the mediators convey their cognition of Zen by use pens and inks. The Zen artist tries to suggest by the simplest possible means the inherent nature of the aesthetic object.
Figure painting is the oldest element in traditional Chinese painting.
The XieYi technique, also called "Free Style", is painted fresh from the hand and the design of the image is subject to few restrictions.
Xie means to write and Yi the meaning. A famous Master of Chinese painting, said that Xieyi indicated the fact of drawing the spirit of the beings. Painting Xieyi uses many techniques of calligraphy which privilege the spontaneity of the line. Free style paintings are thus very quickly carried out.

Very impressive product! The canvas is sturdily made. It features a saw tooth hanger on the back, making it easy to "try out" the canvas in several rooms until I found the best location. It attracts good comments from my friends. I love it! The printing is wonderful! Colors are as bright and crisp as they appeared on the website.

I ordered this product to see what the quality was because I am selling it on my store. Plus it was on sale and it was an excellent price! I didn’t expect it to be as nice. It really is beautiful. I am relieved! The only thing I don’t like about it is the sawtooth hanger on the back. I prefer a wire hanging system. The sawtooth hanger was not even centered but I managed to hang it straight anyway. Overall I love it! I will add the wire myself. The printing was clear and crisp and the colors were excellent! The canvas was stretched tight and professionally done. I am very happy with the quality of the print!

The print was really like something that would be purchased in a gallery. One of the panels needed to be re-stretched but that’s easy. I did 4 panels which when hung together made one huge image. I then enhanced the canvas by painting over some areas.. and then used permanent markers. The result was a personalized artistic piece for a clients early modern home. This piece far exceeded my expectations. Will definitely go back and use this idea again. Exact representation of image sent. Be aware that photos have pixelated flaws... if these little dark specks aren’t cleaned up using common computer techniques, they will be represented in the final canvas print..... so go over the image and make sure all flaws have been erased prior to submitting it. The reproduction is exactly what you send.
