Lost Socks Seeking Sole Mates T-Shirt

At home, I have a drawer where I put all the socks that have lost their pair. Now there are seven socks and all are different. Some of them are dark; one is black, others have diamonds, or lines in colours such as black, grey or green. In addition, they can be long or short. But then, I ask myself a question. Where are the other missing socks? I think if I lose a sock in the dirty clothing basket, it should appear in the next load of laundry. Also, they could be behind the washing machine. But no, I looked in the clothing basket and in the sides of the washing machine and I didn't find anything. So... Where do all the missing socks go?
