Lt. General Thomas (Stonewall) Jackson Poster

Lt. General Thomas (Stonewall) Jackson Poster

This is a colourized photograph of a vintage, black and white portrait of Lt. General Thomas (Stonewall) Jackson who was a teacher at the Virginia Military Institute when the Civil War broke out. It's also a photograph that's in the companion product "Generals at Fredericksburg" calendar available at Zazzle. Jackson quickly joined the Confederate Army. During the Shenandoah Valley campaign in 1862, Jackson defeated three separate Union armies that were trying to reinforce those that were attacking Richmond. It’s been said that as a tactical commander Jackson had no peers. He fought in several engagement including the battles of Bull Run, Kernstown, Winchester, Port Republic, Gaine’s Mill, Savage’s Station, Malvern Hill, Cedar Mountain, Manassas Station, Harpers Ferry, Antietam, and Fredericksburg . At his last engagement in Chancellorsville, Jackson was returning to camp when a Confederate sentry challenged him, but opened fire before recognising the reply. Jackson was hit three times and died about eight days later on May 10, 1863. He was only 39 years old. This portrait includes the general in a grey uniform, with brass buttons, a gold insignia collar and a highlighted, black background.

I originally ordered this print in a larger size but was not pleased with the clarity of it. When I contacted Zazzle, they responded really quickly and were very helpful. I was able to reorder the print in a smaller size and it was shipped to me within a couple of weeks. The print was packaged well to ensure there was no damage during transit (Eco friendly, too!), and I am really pleased with it. I am so grateful to the customer service team for the professional way they handled my order. I had this printed on matt finish card and I was really pleased with the quality. The colours were rich and the image sharp.
