Lucha Libre Postcard
Lucha Libre or "free wrestling" is a term used in Mexico, and other Spanish-speaking countries, for a form of professional wrestling chraacterised by colourful masks, rapid sequences of holds and manoeuvres, as well as "high-flying" manoeuvres. The wearing of masks has developed special significance, and matches are sometimes contested in which the loser must permanently remove his mask. This image was taken in San Francisco's Mission District at 22nd and South Van Ness.
