Because "Williams" is a patronymic surname meaning "son of William," it developed independently across multiple families, meaning there is no single, unique "Williams family coat of arms." Instead, numerous distinct coats of arms were granted to different historical branches of the Williams family across Wales, England, and Ireland. The most prominent historical branches and their armorial bearings are broken down below.
1. The Welsh Branches (Monmouthshire & Llangibby)Because the name has incredibly deep roots in Wales, the Welsh Williams arms are among the most famous. The Shield (Arms): Divided gyronny of eight ermine and sable (a shield split into eight triangles of ermine fur and black) featuring a lion rampant or (a golden rearing lion). The Crest: A talbot passant (a hunting hound in a walking position) divided down the middle in ermine and gold (per pale ermine and or).The Motto: Cadarn ar cyfwys, which translates from Welsh to "Strong and subtle".
2. Alternative Welsh/English VariationsAnother widespread coat of arms heavily associated with British lines of Williams uses entirely different symbology. The Shield (Arms): Blazoned as Vair, three crescents or. Vair represents a distinct blue-and-white bell pattern meant to mimic noble squirrel fur, adorned with three golden crescents. The Crest: A demi-eagle with elevated black wings, with each wing decorated with four bezants (golden roundels/coins).Symbolism: In heraldry, the eagle stands for strength and clarity of vision, while the crescents typically signify high ambition or military advancement.
3. The Irish Branch (Dublin, 1603)The name spread to Ireland as an immigrant name via Wales and England during the 17th century, where a unique armorial lineage was established. The Shield (Arms): A vibrant red shield (gules) displaying two gold eagle wings conjoined at the base, topped with a silver sword pointing upward with a golden hilt. The Crest: A ducal coronet out of which a hand emerges, holding a wavy-bladed sword. The Motto: Nil desperandum, a famous Latin phrase meaning "Never despairing".

I'd been experimenting with transferring designs to other products when my wife noticed this old time metal lunchbox. I knew she wanted it thus I created a special one just for here with a couple of her favorite photos I'd taken. Excellent. The cloud image on the front is her favorite of the two. It was taken right off our back patio. The other image was in West Texas several years ago, wide open spaces and roads.

I had a problem with the first lunchbox they sent me because it had a smudge in the print, but fortunately they replaced it for free, no return and no questions asked. The second one turned out perfect. I especially love the color of the "baby blue" lunchbox. It is so beautiful and has a retro nostalgic hue. 5*'s!!!
