'Machu Picchu at Dawn' Poster
Machu Picchu sits high in the Andes above the Urubamba River. The location of the "Lost City of the Incas" was hidden from Spanish invaders. It was rediscovered in 1911 by Hiram Bingham, a Yale professor/explorer who later became a U.S. Senator. Indiana Jones is loosely based on Bingham. This photo was taken by the artist in July 1969.
