Madagascar Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park Travel Postcard

Madagascar Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park Travel Postcard

Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park, located in western Madagascar, is one of the most unique and otherworldly landscapes on the planet. The park is famous for its towering limestone formations, known as "tsingy," which are sharp, needle-like rock formations created by millions of years of erosion. These dramatic limestone pinnacles create a maze-like terrain that is nearly impenetrable, giving the park its name—Tsingy means “where one cannot walk barefoot” in the Malagasy language. The park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a biodiversity hotspot, home to a wide range of endemic species that have adapted to its rugged environment. Among the park’s most remarkable inhabitants are the lemurs, including the Decken’s sifaka, a striking white-furred species that gracefully leaps between the jagged rocks. Tsingy de Bemaraha is also home to a variety of reptiles, such as the rare Madagascar giant gecko and leaf-tailed geckos that blend perfectly with the rock surfaces. Birdwatchers can spot the Madagascar fish eagle, one of the rarest birds of prey in the world. Due to its remote location and challenging terrain, the park remains largely untouched, preserving its pristine ecosystem. Adventurers who visit can explore the hanging bridges, hidden caves, and winding trails that reveal the extraordinary beauty of this hidden gem in Madagascar.

Such a huge range of different frogs available, which made my choices very difficult and now the reason I have a whole draw full of cards and postcards! Much better quality than you can buy in the shops and they are exactly on the subject I love and adore too.
