Mah-Jong Symbolic Square puzzle

The tile pictures are taken from a Mah-Jong set made from bone and bamboo (dovetailed together). It was probably made in China between 1920 and 1940. The actual tiles are quite small (measuring just 1.8cm x 2.5cm - 0.7" x 1") and, although the artists probably worked with magnifying glasses, inevitably there were brush strokes that went astray. My original photographs showed all this, but I spent a lot of time tidying up the images using a photo design tool – getting rid of mis-strokes and smudges, and copying brushstrokes to places in the engraving that had been missed out.
