Mallard Duck, Plate 221 from The Birds of America by John James Audubon.
This image was scanned at very high resolution directly from the original book, The Birds of America by naturalist and painter John James Audubon (published in sections between 1827 and 1838 as a series). It has then been edited, cropped, sharpened and enhanced as needed for large scale format and use. While some of the original flaws form the old print will remain, this is one of the best versions of this artworks available. All 435 hand coloured life-size watercolors in the original portfolio, reproduced from hand-engraved plates, are available. This is a beautiful puzzle with just the right amount of difficult. I’m a puzzler and I really enjoyed doing this one.
There were two pitfalls. One, is that the pieces fit together a little too loosely for my liking. Two, I got a puzzle where the edges of all the pieces were lifting at the edges, like it wasn’t cut with a sharp blade. I called Zazzle and they sent me out a new one immediately! Zazzle was awesome to work with! The picture was amazing!!

The final product looks great, bright, bold colors, and identical to website photo. I would give it a five but for the fact that the pieces fit very loose making it difficult to move pieces around. Also some pieces can fit perfectly in different locations. You have no idea that a piece is misplaced until an adjacent piece won't fit or does not exist. That does make the puzzle more difficult to put together. Once it was glued together with puzzle glue it was really nice. The custom printing was perfect. It perfectly matched the photo that you see online when ordering.
