Man Confronting Fox Goddess Apparition Postcard

This colour print was created by the famous Japanese artist Utagawa Kuniyoshi in the 19th century. It's titled: "A man confronted with an apparition of the Fox goddess". Many of Utagawa's prints were themed around ghosts, apparitions and spectres. I'm not sure who the man in the print is, but he's probably a samurai (Japanese warrior). He's shielding his eyes with one hand while holding a long bow in the other. His kimono (clothes) are very colourful, and he's also draped in some kind of fur. Utagawa has signed the artwork (and perhaps written a few sentences) in Kanji characters and Hiragana (Japanese writing).
