Mandarin Duck Poster

This is probably one of the most beautiful birds I've ever seen, it's hard to believe that they are real, they almost look like a cartoon with their bright vivid colours. These Mandarin ducks can live up to around seven years and they generally live in forests near wetlands including freshwater lakes, marshes, bogs, swamps and streams. They are not considered endangered but simply make my list due to the unique colouring and they're just one of those birds it's hard to look away, very unique. The Mandarin duck can be found in Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan and Russia. The overal population is declining though some areas they are considered stable, there are around 60,000+ Mandarin ducks so not a huge amount by bird standards. The males are the prettiest with the females being not quite as colourful or vivid. They generally feed on seeds, small fruit, insects and small fish. Females can lay up to a dozen eggs.
