Edouard Manet was a French impressionist painter, born in Paris. Manet was an innovative impressionist artist who influenced the impressionist movement. Manet used fellow impressionist painter Monet's approach to painting quickly, out of doors in the plein aire style associated with impressionist painters. This impressionist painting of a family in the garden was painted in the summer of 1874, when Manet painted the Monet family who were living nearby. This painting is of Camille Monet and Jean; Claude Monet is gardening at the left. Renoir was also in the garden painting. A beautiful painting of a mother and son sitting in the midst of the French countryside.
