Mardi Gras 2015 falls on Tuesday, February 17. Visitors, please note: Parades will begin on February 6th. Check our Parade Schedule section for specifics. Come then and you'll be sure to catch the most popular parades, like Endymion, Bacchus, Zulu, Rex and all of the festive celebrations throughout the whole city.
Mardi Gras, or "Fat Tuesday," is the last day of the Carnival season as it always falls the day before Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent. Most visitors will plan to arrive no later than Saturday, February 14, 2015 in order to enjoy an extended weekend of festivities.Laissez le bon temps rouler!

Mardi Gras colours. Rex selected the official Mardi Gras colours in 1872. The 1892 Rex Parade theme Symbolism of Colours gave meaning to the colours:purple represents justice; green, faith; and gold, power. Remember to wear the Mardi Gras colours of purple, green and gold during Mardi Gras whenever you're not in costume!

I'm really happy with this shirt - it looks great, fits perfectly, and feels right. The quality of the material and the cut is excellent. I'm really happy. I designed the print and it is exactly as I planned. In fact the colours are better than I'd hoped. The colours are fairly nuanced across the front and it wouldn't have worked if the printing wasn't exact, but it is.
