Little Horse Island, St. Helena is home to the last 400 of these wild ponies .Marsh Tackies were bred to thrive in the challenging climate and terrain of the Lowcountry-hot, humid and swampy. They are small, sturdy, calm, and gentle and navigate the pluff mud with ease.
