Martyrs Square was previously known as Place des Canons and according to online sources was renamed Martyrs Square in 1916. This photo was marked on the back as being Martyrs Square in 1913 so a little mystery with this card. One thing is for sure the card is of Beirut circa 1913 and shows a thriving area of the CBD.
