Woman Bathing (La Toilette), created by Mary Cassatt in 1890–1891, shows a woman bending over a washbasin during her toilette. A jug and mirror frame this intimate domestic scene. Part of Cassatt's celebrated series of colour prints, the work combines drypoint and aquatint with flattened forms influenced by Japanese prints. It is held by The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
