Mary Cassatt's Children on the Beach (1884) Tie

Also referred to as Two Children at the Seashore, or Children Playing on the Beach, this show two girls digging in the sand with the ocean and sailboats in the background. Mary Cassatt was an American painter who spent much of her career in France, where she studied with Degas and exhibited with the Impressionists. She held influence with many United States collectors, and influenced the building of some strong American collections. Much of her work focuses on mothers with children and domestic life.
