Senator Mary Landrieu (D-Louisiana) is cashing in on your tax dollars. Initially a holdout against the massive expansion of government in taking over the health care industry, she sold out as soon as she could sweeten the deal enough; i.e., $300 million in Medicare benefits for Louisiana. Given that the democrats have shut out republican input from the beginning, choosing instead to develop 'health care' legislation hand-in-hand with lobbyists behind closed doors, this is the sort of backroom dealing which becomes necessary to garner support for bad bills.
