Maxwell Radio Record Co. Chicago was a shop on Maxwell st. In the 1940s they started the Ora Nelle recording company inside the shop. The label was short-lived but recorded a handful of gems. One was Ora Nelle Blues by great but little known Othum Brown. Jimmy Rogers launched his career with an adaption of Ora Nelle Blues, that he named That's All Right. Other artists that recorded here were Little Walter, Sleepy John Estes, Johnny Temple, and a guitar player known as "Boll Weevil."
