Medee (Medea) - Mucha - Art Nouveau Theatre ad Poster
This is a quality reproduction of the vintage theatre poster "Medee at the Theatre de la Renaissance," starring Sarah Bernhardt. It was created by Art Nouveau artist Alphonse Mucha [Alfons Mucha] in 1898. It is a definite departure from Mucha's normal posters, which usually depict women in a peaceful and exulted manner. ~ In this image we see the Sarah Bernhardt with a look of horror in her eyes, a dagger with encrusted blood in her hand, and death at her feet. It is said to be Mucha's most powerful image.
This image has been professionally restored by us. It has been retouched where faded and creased, and colours have been enhanced.
This artwork is available as a poster or a canvas print. Framing is also available.
