Memento Mori - Remember that you will die Magnet
In Meditations Marcus Aurelius wrote "You could leave life right now. Let that determine what you do and say and think." That was a personal reminder to continue living a life of virtue NOW, and not wait. The French painter Philippe de Champaigne expressed a similar sentiment in his painting "Still Life with a Skull," which showed the three essentials of existence - the tulip (life), the skull (death), and the hourglass (time). The original painting is part of a genre referred to as Vanitas, a form of 17th century artwork featuring symbols of mortality which encourage reflection on the meaning and fleetingness of life. A memento mori (Latin 'remember that you must die') is an artistic or symbolic reminder of the inevitability of death. The expression 'memento mori' developed with the growth of Christianity, which emphasized Heaven, Hell, and salvation of the soul in the afterlife.

A beautiful durable magnet for frig. Perfect size and quality made. Colors are vibrant and with black lettering the contrast was so pretty against the sun. A real beauty!

The 4X6 flexible, photo magnets are very sturdy and high quality. I especially like the rounded edges. Unfortunately, the cuts of the edges are a bit rough and jagged, which you can see in the photo, below. The edges can be trimmed with very sharp scissors but you do risk making the edges uneven. The printing on this project was a little bit fuzzy, the cause of which may be something on my end. I intend to contact customer service to see if there's anything I might do to improve the crispness of the image or if the issue lies with the printing, itself. Also, the product is just a bit darker than the original. Again, I intend to troubleshoot this, with customer service, to be sure where the issue lies.
