Mesa Verde National Park, in Southwest Colorado, Montezuma County. NESCO World Heritage Site located in Montezuma County, Colorado. The park features numerous ruins of homes and villages built by the Ancestral Puebloan people (the Anasazi). The Ancestral Puebloans made stone villages their home in the 1200AD, however, the first Ancestral Puebloans settled in Mesa Verde over 600 years before the Mesa Verde cliff dwellings in this photo series were built. Hunter gatherer people settled here. An HDR image using 3 shots, processed in Photomatix. Shot with a Nikon D300 and 17-50mm Tamron, f/10, 1/13s
