Midnight on the Yukon River: Poster

Sunset and sunrise of the midnight sun on the Yukon river, illustrated in a painting from a wooden raft. Tundra swans were drifting towards an island far across the dark churning water, in the heart of Alaska's vast open wilderness. As a dreary day full of rain ended with sudden dark but vivid colours, a silvery light shined down on the landscape, focusing on the scene ahead. Some of the clouds turned a deep vivid red as they parted. The distance going forward was faintly illuminated in deep violate, glowing in the darkness. Mountains and forests passed by with the drifting in powerful currents, until arriving at this destination which was the place to stay until tomorrow.
