Misty Fjords National Monument Alaska Postcard

Misty Fjords National Monument is a vast wilderness area in southeastern Alaska known for its dramatic glacially carved fjords, sheer granite cliffs, and dense temperate rainforests. Towering rock walls rise straight out of deep, mirror-like waters, often shrouded in drifting mist that gives the landscape its iconic, ethereal atmosphere. Accessible primarily by boat or floatplane from nearby Ketchikan, the monument is home to waterfalls cascading hundreds of feet into icy channels, abundant wildlife such as black bears, eagles, and seals, and a sense of untouched natural grandeur that defines Alaska's coastal wilderness.
